It often uses Computed Aided Systems (CAD) that analyzes medical data in order to support the human specialist in the diagnostic process. This AI tools are intended to aid and improve the patholo gy detection by Radiologists, allowing for a better, more accurate and sooner diagnostics. The purpose of this chapter is to provide some insights about AI concepts, tools and its application in Medical Imaging. There are identified several tools that are becoming more available in all imaging modalities, as the Covid 19 pandemic, made a impulse on this Digital and AI transition in our everyday lives, and particularly in healthcare. The next generation of AI-based diagnostic ima ging systems will surely have a serious impact in daily educational and healthcare institutions for the next few years. In the present state, the results of the studies in qualitative and clinical impact terms are promising, but the speed of change and the rate of technical advances in the field of AI suggest that solutions based on these systems will be very challenging so that the professionals could deliver a more humanized and patient centered healthcare delivery with more faster and reliable diagnostic, reducing human error.engTeleradiologyArtificial IntelligenceArtificial Intelligence in teleradiology: A rapid review of educational and professional contributionsbook part10.4018/978-1-6684-7164-7.ch00
