To identify the attitudes of adolescents attending secondary education and analyze the influence of variables: gender, age, degree of parental education and profession, religion, courtship, information about sexuality, sexual intercourse and use of contraception in these attitudes. Sexuality is a fundamental component of the affective relationship, referring to how each one relates to himself and with others when demanding affection (Nodin, 2001) influencing the physical and mental health and well being of individuals (Matos et al., 2003). Proposals from some scientific studies lead to better understand the attitudes of adolescents towards their sexuality, proceeding to the study in the context of an expected association between several variables, considered crucial to help explore the terrain of affections (Canavarro,1999).METHODOLOGY: Transversal descriptive-correlacional study, using the questionnaire as data collection with socio-demographic and individual variables; Psychosexual Inventory of Snyder; Eysenck Personality inventory; Streit Juvenile Perceptions inventory, Portuguese version of Fleming (1993) and the Vaz Serra Self Concept Clinical inventory (1998). The sample consists of 521 students (between 15 and 19 years old) attending secondary education in the city of Castelo Branco (Escola Secundária Amato Lusitano e Escola Secundária Nuno Álvares), with an average age of 16.37 years (DP=1,06), being (46.4%) males and (53.6%) females.
