Abstract(s)
Abstract: Violence between peers has increased in recent decades and is evidenced in aggressive behaviors from students that translate into physical, verbal and psychological aggression. Such violent behaviors in the school environment have drawn the attention of research that has explored them academically through a phenomenon called bullying. After a literature review on the topic, we found that despite the countless studies on bullying, there is still little research carried out in the context of early childhood education. The present study seeks to contribute to a better understanding of bullying prevention in this educational context, supported by the implementation of strategies to develop children's socio-emotional skills. This is a qualitative study, carried out with 15 children, aged 5-6 years, aiming to implement playful-pedagogical activities with a view to developing behaviors of empathy and mutual respect and, at the same time, enabling children to distinguish the game of bullying. The data collected point to the need to raise early awareness about bullying in a kindergarten context, using an intervention adapted to the age group that promotes the development of socio-emotional skills. Observing children's behaviors and implementing activities that develop social interaction skills is essential to prevent this type of behavior, as it helps them deal with their emotions, resolve conflicts peacefully and develop empathy.
