Onde estão os livros… a biblioteca nas nuvens?!

| dc.description.abstract | Na atualidade, o acesso à informação parece ser quase tão valioso quanto a própria informação. Ao longo dos anos, o papel das bibliotecas era geralmente caracterizado como incluindo o desenvolvimento de coleções, a catalogação e indexação de livros, revistas e outros materiais, e os serviços ao utilizador, nomeadamente o serviço de empréstimo. No entanto, naturalmente com o tempo essas funções foram-se modificando sendo acrescidas de outras mais focadas na informação e menos no documento. Assim, para além dessas funções, as bibliotecas passaram a ser facilitadoras do acesso à informação. Os utilizadores das bibliotecas do ensino superior podem apresentar diferentes graus de proficiência na forma como lidam e acedem tanto à informação como aos documentos disponíveis nas bibliotecas das suas instituições de ensino superior. Muitas vezes, isso pode estar relacionado com a maneira como as bibliotecas são capazes de cumprir seu papel, designadamente de partilha de informação sobre os recursos existentes na biblioteca e sobre a sua utilização. Tendo em conta este contexto, o tema da apresentação desta conferência é biblioteca da ESACB e os diferentes recursos informacionais e serviços disponíveis para os seus utilizadores. Isso inclui: as características dos recursos da biblioteca; como esses recursos funcionam, ou seja, a base de dados de resumos e citações SCOPUS, que é o recurso mais recente disponível na biblioteca; a plataforma b-on (i.e. Biblioteca de conhecimento online); Recursos de acesso aberto e tutoriais disponíveis na página da biblioteca. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: At present, access to information is almost as valuable as information itself. Over the years, the role of libraries has usually been considered to include collection development, cataloging and access, and user services namely the loan of books, magazines and journals. However, this falls short in the contemporary context. That is why in addition to these functions, libraries are now information access facilitators, i.e. they make all kinds of knowledge and information easily available to users. Higher education library users may show different degrees of proficiency in the way they access both information and documents available at the libraries of their higher education institutions. This may often be related to the way libraries are able to fulfil their role of sharing information about existing library resources and their use. Bearing in mind this context, the topic of this conference presentation is our library and the different library resources available for use. This includes: the characteristics of library resources; how these library resources work, namely the abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature SCOPUS, which is the latest resource available from the library; the b-on platform (i.e. Online library of knowledge); Open-Access resources and tutorials available on the library webpage. | pt_PT |
