| dc.description.abstract | This chapter makes a critical and reflective literature review about the problem related to the most info excluded population: the elderly. To this end, proposals and challenges are presented related to emerging technologies, in general, and, regarding the Internet of Things (IoT) and Assistive Environments (AAL) in order to promote conditions for a better quality of life. In terms of quality of life, there was a concern to highlight healthcare associated with digital platforms and digital applications that will be the future of the concept we call eHealth 4.0. In this context, potentialities and opportunities were presented, but at the same time critical reflections were also presented. In summary, it can be said that there is an urgency to provide the elderly with digital skills so that they can take advantage of these new emerging technologies so that they can enjoy a better quality of life during their aging process. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | O presente capítulo faz uma revisão de literatura de modo crítico e reflexivo acerca do problema relacionado com a população mais infoexcluída: os idosos. Para o efeito, apresentam-se propostas e desafios relacionados com as tecnologias emergentes, no geral, e em particular, acerca da Internet das Coisas (IoT) e dos Ambientes Assistivos (AAL) de forma a promover condições para uma melhor qualidade de vida. Em termos de qualidade de vida, houve a preocupação em se evidenciarem os cuidados de saude associados a plataformas digitais e a aplicações digitais que serão o futuro do conceito a que designámos por eHealth 4.0. Neste âmbito foram apresentadas as potencialidades e as oportunidades, mas ao mesmo tempo foram também apresentadas reflexões críticas. Em jeito de síntese, pode-se afirmar que há uma urgência em dotar os idosos de competências digitais no sentido de poderem usufruir destas novas tecnologias emergentes para que possam usufruir de uma melhor qualidade de vida no decurso do seu processo de envelhecimento. | pt_PT |
