Abstract(s)
O trabalho desta Tese consiste na avaliação da aptidão dos solos localizados a sul do concelho
do Fundão com vista à sua beneficiação pelo regadio, com o uso de ferramentas SIG. Para fazer
este estudo, é necessário fazer um levantamento das propriedades de cada mancha de solo, dentro
da área de estudo, criar uma base de dados com essa informação e através de uma plataforma SIG
fazer a análise e classificação dos solos. A classificação da aptidão dos solos para o regadio, permite
identificar as zonas regáveis, zonas que necessitem de alguma intervenção para serem regadas e
zonas não regáveis. Além desta identificação, o estudo apresentado nesta Tese serve de base para
definir tipos de culturas que possam ser realizadas em determinadas zonas. A classificação dos solos
para o regadio, envolve o estudo de muitos condicionalismos, por isso a base de dados contém muita
informação que pode ser utilizada para outro tipo de estudos sobre solos. Este é um trabalho de
aplicação, onde os sistemas SIG têm um papel importante na classificação e análise de solos. O
ArcGIS foi a ferramenta utilizada neste estudo.
Abstrac: The work of this thesis consists in the evaluation of the suitability of Fund˜ao municipality soils in order to perform their irrigation, with the use of GIS tools. To perform this study, it is necessary to survey the properties of each soil, within the study area, create a database with this information and through a GIS platform perform the analysis and classification of soils. The capability’s classification of the soils for irrigation, allows identified the watered areas, areas which need some intervention to be watered and not watered areas. In addition to this identification, the study presented in this thesis is the basis that allows defining types of crops that can be made in certain areas. The classification of soils for the irrigation, involves the study of many constraints, so the database contains much information that can be used for other types of studies on soils. This is a work of application, where the GIS systems have an important role in the classification and analysis of soils. ArcGIS was the tool used in this study.
