A avaliação da satisfação dos estudantes é a base de uma estratégia competitiva a realizar pelas Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) a fim de obterem preferências e entrarem nos
principais rankings de melhores universidades. Com base numa amostra recolhida em 102 IES do Reino Unido, testou-se um modelo estrutural que visa avaliar a importância da satisfação dos estudantes do ensino superior com fatores académicos, fatores sociais e infraestruturas e, ainda, o impacto que esta satisfação tem na recomendação. Os resultados obtidos revelam que a recomendação é influenciada positivamente pelos três fatores determinantes de satisfação (académicos, sociais e infraestruturas), sendo, contudo, a satisfação com os fatores sociais a que apresenta maior relevância.
ABSTRACT: The evaluation of student satisfaction is the basis of a competitive strategy to be undertaken by higher education institutions (HEIs) in order to obtain preference and enter the main rankings of the best universities. Based on a sample collected at 102 HEIs in United Kingdom, we tested a structural model that aims to assess the importance of student satisfaction in higher education with academic factors, social factors and infrastructure, and also the impact that satisfaction have in recommendation. The results show that recommendation is positively influenced by the three determinants of satisfaction (academic, social and infrastructure), however satisfaction with social factors has the highest relevance.
