A presente dissertação analisa a relação entre a gestão da inovação, liderança e competitividade empresarial, explorando as práticas adotadas em três empresas de setores distintos: Beiradinâmica, Granitos DF e Mecalbi. O principal objetivo é compreender como a liderança e a gestão da inovação influenciam a construção de
vantagens competitivas. A investigação baseia-se em estudos de caso descritivos e exploratórios, com recolha de dados por entrevistas semiestruturadas e análise documental.
Os resultados revelam que cada empresa adota estratégias distintas de inovação, moldadas pelas suas características setoriais. A Beiradinâmica foca-se na digitalização e personalização dos serviços, promovendo a fidelização de clientes no setor de mediação de seguros. A Granitos DF investe em tecnologia para otimização de processos e melhoria da qualidade, destacando-se na transformação industrial de rochas. Já a Mecalbi adota práticas de investigação e desenvolvimento altamente inovadoras, consolidando a sua posição no setor tecnológico global.
O estudo evidência que a liderança desempenha um papel crucial na implementação de práticas inovadoras. Líderes visionários, que promovem uma cultura organizacional aberta à experimentação e aprendizagem contínua, são fundamentais para a adaptação ao mercado cada vez mais competitivo. Além disso,
destaca-se a importância de superar barreiras como restrições financeiras e resistência à mudança, elementos críticos para o sucesso das estratégias de inovação.
Conclui-se que a integração da gestão da inovação às estratégias empresariais é essencial para o fortalecimento da competitividade. As empresas que conseguem alinhar práticas inovadoras às suas metas organizacionais não apenas sobrevivem em ambientes dinâmicos, mas também alcançam posições de destaque nos mercados em que atuam. Este estudo contribui para o entendimento das nuances setoriais e fornece recomendações práticas para organizações que procuram aprimorar a sua competitividade através da inovação.
Abstract: This dissertation examines the relationship between innovation management, leadership, and corporate competitiveness, exploring the practices adopted by three companies from different sectors: Beiradinâmica, Granitos DF, and Mecalbi. The primary objective is to understand how leadership and innovation management influence the building of competitive advantages. The research is based on descriptive and exploratory case studies, with data collection through semi-structured interviews and document analysis. Results reveal that each company adopts distinct innovation strategies, shaped by their sectoral characteristics. Beiradinâmica focuses on the digitalization and personalization of services, promoting customer loyalty in the insurance brokerage sector. Granitos DF invests in technology for process optimization and quality improvement, standing out in the industrial transformation of rocks. Mecalbi, on the other hand, adopts highly innovative research and development practices, consolidating its position in the global technology sector. The study highlights the crucial role of leadership in implementing innovative practices. Visionary leaders who promote an organizational culture open to experimentation and continuous learning are fundamental to adapting to an increasingly competitive market. Additionally, the importance of overcoming barriers such as financial constraints and resistance to change is emphasized, critical elements for the success of innovation strategies. It is concluded that the integration of innovation management into corporate strategies is essential for strengthening competitiveness. Companies that manage to align innovative practices with their organizational goals not only survive in dynamic environments but also achieve prominent positions in their markets. This study contributes to the understanding of sectoral nuances and provides practical recommendations for organizations seeking to enhance their competitiveness through innovation.
