Abstract(s)
Abstract: This report is the result of work carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching, specialization in Instrument (Classical Guitar) and Ensemble Music and is divided into two parts. The first, highlights part of the path developed in the 2022/2023 academic year during the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES) subject. This Practice was carried out at the Castelo Branco Regional Conservatory, focusing on the accompaniment of two from 2nd grade and the accompaniment of an ensemble class (Guitar Orchestra B). The second part, addresses the research work carried out during the academic year, entitled “Memorization Strategies for Classical Guitar”. The methodology used was action research with methods mainly of a qualitative nature, carried out with four guitar students (two from 2nd grade and two from 4th grade). This investigation aims to research and implement memorization strategies that help optimize the time it takes a student to memorize a musical work. The data collection techniques used were direct observation, questionnaire surveys, observation grids and field notes. The conclusions point to the benefits of working and knowing different memorization strategies and the importance of implementing them together with students.
