Capacitação da família e cuidadores informais dos doentes com necessidades paliativas no domicílio

Abstract(s)
Este relatório foi elaborado tendo como objetivo a obtenção de grau de Mestre pela
Escola Superior de Saúde Dr. Lopes Dias do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco, no
contexto dos Cuidados Paliativos. Encontra-se dividido em três partes.
Na primeira parte é descrito o estágio de 310 horas realizado numa Equipa de
Cuidados Paliativos. Durante o período de estágio observei um total de 166 doentes,
59 em âmbito de consultas externas de Cuidados Paliativos, 46 doentes com a Equipa
Intra-Hospitalar de Suporte em Cuidados Paliativos e 61 doentes em contexto de
internamento. Neste capítulo serão também apresentadas as atividades científicas
realizadas e a análise dos principais objetivos segundo aos principais pilares dos
Cuidados Paliativos.
Na segunda parte do relatório é descrito o projeto de intervenção/formação no
âmbito da formação aos cuidadores de doentes com necessidades paliativas. A
realização deste projeto na unidade de Cuidados de Saúde Primários onde me insiro,
além da finalidade em si, teve como objetivo consciencializar a equipa para a
necessidade da identificação do cuidador principal, seguida da análise das suas
necessidades e orientação das mesmas.
A terceira parte diz respeito à revisão sistemática da literatura que teve por objetivo
determinar as necessidades formativas dos cuidadores de doentes com necessidades
paliativas no domicílio, existentes na literatura. A premência desta revisão prende-se
com o imperativo conhecimento das mesmas, para ir de encontro às reais necessidades
e expectativas dos cuidadores. Por outro lado, oferece uma visão acerca da relevância
e perspetiva de profissionais de saúde acera deste tema.
Neste relatório está em enfoque a temática da capacitação e apoio aos cuidadores,
seja no contributo para um maior conhecimento nesta área como na sua aplicação na
prática. Para além disso, é apresentada a dinâmica de transição da aquisição dos
conhecimentos teóricos para a sua aplicação prática, e o contributo para um maior
conhecimento acerca dos Cuidados Paliativos junto de profissionais de saúde, doentes
e cuidadores.
Abstract : This report was prepared with the aim of obtaining a Master's degree from the Escola Superior de Saúde Dr. Lopes Dias of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, in the context of Palliative Care. It´s divided into three parts. The first part describes the 310-hour internship carried out in a Palliative Care team. During the internship period, I observed a total of 166 patients, 59 in Palliative Care external consultations, 46 patients with the Intra-Hospital Palliative Care Support Team and 61 inpatients. This chapter also presents the scientific activities carried out and an analysis of the main objectives according to the pillars of Palliative Care. The second part of the report describes the intervention/training project design for caregivers of patients with palliative needs. The aim of this project at the Primary Health Care unit where I work was not only to make the team aware of the need to identify the main caregiver, but also to analyze their needs and guide them. The third part refers to the systematic literature review, the aim of which was to determine the training needs of caregivers of patients with palliative needs at home. The relevance of this review lies in the imperative knowledge required to address the needs and expectations of caregivers. On the other hand, it offers an insight on the relevance and perspective of health professionals on the subject. This report focuses on the theme of training and support of caregivers, both in terms of its contribution to greater knowledge in this area and its implementation. In addition, it presents the dynamic of transition from the acquisition of theoretical knowledge to its application in practice, and the contribution to greater knowledge about Palliative Care among health professionals, patients and caregivers.
