Abstract(s)
Abstract: This report reflects the teaching practice developed in stage performed within the course of the curricular unity of Supervised Teaching Practice, as well as the research work developed within the course of the curricular unity of Project of Artistic Education, being divided into two parts. The first part addresses the Supervised Teaching Practice, where is done the characterization of the school and students, where are shown the lesson plans and classroom reports, also presenting a critical reflexion of the work developed over the stage. In the second part is exposed the research work, under the title A New Approach in Teaching Bassoon Initiation: The Suzuki Method. The lack of repertoire for quint bassoon and the inexistence of an appropriate and adapted pedagogy for the teaching of bassoon initiation were the motto to the completion of this research. Due to this facts and knowing the success that the Suzuki Method has in violin education, as well as the success of its adaptation to other instruments, it’s intended to study if the methodologies created by Suzuki can be applied successfully in the teaching of bassoon initiation. For this end, it was developed a study based on the guiding principles of the Suzuki Method, including the composition of a method for quint bassoon consisting of a small compilation of children’s songs, with arrangements for quint bassoon, bassoon and piano, and their respective recordings.
