Para o efeito foram distribuídos questionários a professores do 1º Ciclo e a alunos da formação inicial do curso de professores do Ensino Básico a fim de averiguar quais as principais vantagens e desvantagens na utilização da internet em contexto educativo. Precedeu-se ainda a uma avaliação mais focalizada nos conteúdos das ciências da natureza ao nível das páginas web.
- CienTIC project : the use of portuguese primary schools websites as a way to improve the teaching and learning process in sciencePublication . Gil, Henrique; Afonso, MargaridaThe CienTIC Project aims to enhance the work and activities as a consequence of the Internet National Programme for Primary Schools that were created by the Portuguese Ministry of Education on the schooling year of 2002/03 till June 2004. Within this programme the main aim was the creation of a website in each Portuguese primary school besides the improvement and use of Internet by pupils and teachers. The focus of the CienTIC project is to promote an effective use of the school’s website and the use of Internet as a resource that promotes different ways to teach and learning science. The involvement of student teachers is considered important in order to ensure that future use of the Internet resources has more probability to be used in educational context mainly in a country with a lack of systematic use of digital resources.
- Polytechnic teachers’ perspectives about entrepreneurship : a Portuguese case studyPublication . Caseiro, Nuno; Santos, Domingos; Pereira, Cristina; Afonso, MargaridaHigher education institutions are more and more engaged in strategies to promote entrepreneurship among their students and teachers. They have been implementing different instruments to attain that aim: from business incubation centers to start-ups support, from academic entrepreneurship contests to coaching methodologies. The studies about this field of activity are mainly concerned with the role students can undertake to initiate business projects based on innovation. Less attention, on the contrary, has been put on the teachers’ side, their perceptions about entrepreneurship, and the way higher education institutions are addressing this important group - what remains unknown is how higher education institutions are preparing teachers for these entrepreneurship opportunities. This paper is dedicated to the analysis of the perspectives regarding entrepreneurship of Portuguese polytechnic teachers on the context of their institutions, the types of entrepreneurial profile teachers possess and the skills they think they should acquire to empower them for supporting entrepreneurship education. The empirical data results from a questionnaire “Perspetivas sobre o empreendedorismo dos docentes do Ensino Superior Politécnico" (“Polytechnic teachers’ perspectives about entrepreneurship”) are presented, analysed and discussed in the context of the Portuguese reality.
