| dc.description.abstract | O processo de ensino de viola é, relativamente, recente e quase todos os violetistas, no passado, iniciaram o seu percurso musical aprendendo violino. Este projeto de investigação tem por objetivo perceber as principais diferenças entre os dois instrumentos, as razões que levam um músico a transitar de violino para viola, auxiliar os professores no processo de transição de instrumento dos seus alunos, para que este decorra de forma planeada e em prol do aluno. Considero que este projeto pode, ainda, ser útil para os próprios músicos interessados nesta mudança. Apesar de escassez de artigos científicos relacionados com o tema, este trabalho apresenta uma fundamentação teórica sobre o contexto histórico da viola e do violino e a diferente evolução e prestígio que tiverem no decorrer do tempo, até aos dias de hoje. Segue-se a abordagem de temas como a acústica dos instrumentos de corda, diferenças técnicas entre os dois instrumentos, e alguns, poucos, métodos e exercícios escritos para transição do violino para viola. Na tentativa de encontrar respostas, considero que esta revisão de literatura oferece informações suficientes para o processo de investigação a que me proponho. Este estudo adota uma abordagem de investigação quantitativa através de inquérito, por ser o método mais prático para recolher dados de alunos, profissionais e/ou professores de viola que iniciaram a sua formação musical em violino, mas que, entretanto, transitaram para a viola. A investigação pretende obter informações significativas sobre os desafios, as motivações, os benefícios e as razões para esta transição. | dc.description.abstract | Abstract : Since the viola pedagogical system is relatively new and a big percentage of violists in the past began their music education on violin, this research project aims to understand the main differences between the two instruments, the reasons that lead a musician/student to switch from violin to viola in a manner to help teachers whose students are interested in this transition, so that it occurs in a planned way and for the benefit of the student. This investigation project can also be useful for musicians who are interested in this topic. Despite the lack of scientific articles on this subject, this work presents a literature review on the historical context of the viola and violin, the different evolution and reputation they have had over time, acoustics of string instruments, technical differences between the two instruments and some of the few written methods and exercises for the transition from violin to viola. In an attempt to find answers, I feel that this literature review provides sufficient information for the research process. This study adopts a quantitative research approach through a survey, as it is the most practical method for collecting data from students, professionals, and/or viola teachers who began their musical training on violin, but who have since transitioned to viola. The research aims to obtain meaningful information about the challenges, motivations, benefits, and reasons for this transition.
