Abstract(s)
e compreende duas partes distintas.
notável pianista Olga Prats (1938-2021), figura ímpar do panorama pianístico
nacionais.
Abstract: The present report falls within the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Education and comprises two distinct parts. The first part consists of the presentation, description, analysis, and reflection on the Supervised Teaching Practice, applied during the internship at the Escola Artística de Música do Conservatório Nacional, during the academic year 2022/2023. The second part describes the research project in which works by Portuguese composers from the 20th and 21st centuries were collected, analyzed, and prepared for young pianists from grades 1 to 5, culminating in the creation of a compilation and pedagogical guide. The need to disseminate Portuguese works intended for young pianists, as well as the relative scarcity of annotated editions with a pedagogical, analytical, and critical perspective on their musical content, served as the impetus for the present research. The resulting compilation and pedagogical guide encompass a set of 21 pieces, composed between 1904 and 2022, by 17 Portuguese composers who wrote within the realm of children's music, from which 30 movements were selected. These movements are organized into seven thematic groups aimed at musical and reflective progression. This educational material aims to create a new compilation that can provide context for the student, contributing to the inclusion of Portuguese music in their education. The theme and content of the compilation were inspired by the remarkable pianist Olga Prats (1938-2021), a unique figure in the Portuguese piano panorama, serving as inspiration for its title: “Olga Prats: a borboleta melódica que desperta as asas da imaginação”. In the guide accompanying each piece, pedagogical aspects are highlighted, and an analysis is included, providing the student with context and informed interpretation. As an essential component of the project, seven renowned pianists and educators with extensive knowledge of Portuguese repertoire were consulted, aiming to gather insights focused on Portuguese music within the context of piano practice, as well as its pedagogical application and the significance of approaching this type of work in piano instruction. Furthermore, four works by different composers were implemented in a school context, tailored to the individual characteristics of each student. They demonstrated an interest in the presented pieces and expressed positive opinions about their inclusion in schools, revealing a desire to learn more about national composers.
