Objetivo
Análise das variações induzidas pela terapêutica de
relaxamento termal na variação da pressão arterial e
na perceção do estado de saúde e qualidade de vida.
Métodos
Estudo prospetivo do tipo observacional transversal.
anos. Verificaram-se diferenças estatisticamente
significativas na descida da pressão arterial sistólica
entre T0 e T1 (p=0,008) bem como na pressão arterial
diastólica, entre T0 e T1 (p=0,001) e T1 e T2 (p=0,003).
No grupo de indivíduos hipertensos verificaram-se
diferenças estatisticamente significativas na descida
da pressão arterial sistólica entre T0 e T1 (p=0,002)
e T0 e T2 (p=0,002), bem como da pressão arterial
diastólica entre T0 e T1 (p=0,006) e T0 e T2 (p=0,011).
Na aplicação do questionário EQ-5D verificou-se um
aumento significativo do bem-estar dos termalistas
entre todos os momentos avaliados, T0 a T1
(p=0,0001), T1 a T2 (p=0,001) e T0 a T2 (p=0,0001).
Conclusões
Existem efeitos benéficos dos tratamentos termais
na pressão arterial e no bem-estar, em todos os
grupos estudados.
ABSTRACT: Objective Analysis of the variations induced by the thermal relaxation therapy in the variation of blood pressure and in the perception of health status and quality of life. Methods Prospective cross-sectional observational study. Of the total sample, 20 individuals underwent 7 days of thermal treatments, and 50 underwent a 14-day program. Blood pressure was assessed, respectively, at 2 and 3 distinct moments in each group (at time zero - T0, on the seventh day - T1 and on the fourteenth day - T2). All individuals completed the EQ-5D questionnaire to assess the perception of quality of life and health status. Results Sample consisting of 70 individuals, 21 men and 49 women, with an average age of 72.15 ± 9.38 years. There were statistically significant differences in the decrease in systolic blood pressure between T0 and T1 (p = 0.008) as well as in diastolic blood pressure, between T0 and T1 (p = 0.001) and T1 and T2 (p = 0.003). In the group of hypertensive individuals, there were statistically significant differences in the decrease in systolic blood pressure between T0 and T1 (p = 0.002) and T0 and T2 (p = 0.002), as well as in the diastolic blood pressure between T0 and T1 (p = 0.006) and T0 and T2 (p = 0.011). In the application of the EQ-5D questionnaire, there was a significant increase in the well-being of the spa therapists between all evaluated moments, T0 to T1 (p = 0.0001), T1 to T2 (p = 0.001) and T0 to T2 (p = 0.0001). Conclusions There are beneficial effects of thermal treatments on blood pressure assessment and well-being in all groups studied.
