“A disciplina de Design é transversal ao conhecimento humano. Isto é, o design vive,
transforma-se e evolui na interceção das suas intervenções com disciplinas como a
ergonomia, a psicologia, a biologia e a tecnologia, entre outras. O design é sobretudo
uma atitude projetual.” Autor anónimo
A presente tese descreve e analisa a realização de um estágio, na empresa Procer,
destacada na área de produção gráfica, localizada em Oliveira do Bairro, Aveiro. A
temática design de comunicação tem especial destaque em toda a investigação, e é
explorada a vários níveis e cruzado com outras temáticas relevantes para a
investigação. Foram identificados dois motivos impulsionadores da realização da
investigação, o primeiro relaciona-se com a necessidade de validação e aplicação de
conhecimentos teórico-práticos do autor no mundo profissional, e o segundo surge da
necessidade da empresa explorar novos mercados e aumentar a sua competitividade
empresarial. É tido como objetivo a obtenção de respostas para solucionar o tópico
investigativo: Qual o contributo da criação de um departamento de design de
comunicação no reposicionamento de mercado de uma empresa gráfica?
A investigação é executada através da utilização da metodologia intervencionista e
metodologia não intervencionista. Possibilitando assim o cruzamento de dados
resultantes da primeira metodologia (estágio, aplicação prática de conhecimentos e
desenvolvimento de projetos) e da segunda metodologia (sustentação literária, estudo
de casos e análises de informação).
O documento adota um sistema de afunilamento de informação, que a cada capítulo
permite a recolha sumária dos dados essenciais para o cruzamento com os restantes
dados, permitindo a construção e proposta de uma ferramenta metodológica, onde
inclui o departamento de design mais ativamente em todo o processo projetual, desde
a colheita de dados dos requisitos do cliente até à implementação das soluções
desenvolvidas pelo mesmo. Várias conclusões são apresentadas, para diferentes focos
relacionados com a investigação, desde o teórico ao prático.

Communication design theme has repeatedly highlight on all this research, and explored at various levels, how is intersected with other relevant themes for research. Two aspects that motivating : the first is related to the validation and application of theoretical and practical knowledge of the author in the professional world, and the second reason is for the company explore new markets and increase its business competitiveness. The objective is obtain answers to solve the research topic: What is the contribution of the creation of a communication design department in the repositioning of a graphic company's market? Research is carried out through the use of interventionist methodology and noninterventionist methodology. This enables the cross-referencing of data resulting from the first methodology (internship, practical application of knowledge and project development) and the second methodology (literary support, case studies and information analysis). The document adopts a system of filter the information several times, which allow the collection of data essential for cross-checking with other data, allowing the construction and proposal of a methodological tool, which includes the design department more actively throughout the country. design process, from the collection of customer requirements data to the implementation of the solutions developed by the client. Several conclusions are presented, for different foci related to the investigation, from the theoretical to the practical one.
