Abstract(s)
preocupante. As Universidades Seniores (US) desenvolveram atividades online,
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the confinement situation in Portugal has led seniors to see their social activities limited to the space of their homes. Considering that social and digital inclusion is fundamental for physical, mental and social well-being and that sociability relations contribute to this, isolation and distance from social participation were worrying in this period. In the case of Senior Universities (US), through access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), online activities were developed, mitigating social isolation at this stage. This study was carried out between March and July 2021 through a survey of individuals who attend the Associação Rede das Universidades de Terceira Idade (RUTIS) to find out how people changed their offline activities and how they adapted to it, to new forms of online participation. It is concluded that the US was an integrative response in the fight against loneliness in maintaining relationships.
